Taking Hobby Airport West Concourse Expansion Construction to New Heights in Houston
Our Houston team is hard at work on the Hobby Airport West Concourse Expansion, where elevated cast-in-place pan deck construction —designed to support high-load aircraft and passenger traffic— is well underway.
Slated for completion in 2027, the Hobby Airport West Concourse Expansion will add seven new gates for Southwest Airlines, significantly booting international flight capacity.
Hobby Airport has a rich legacy—serving as Houston’s commercial gateway since the 1940s and restoring international flights in 2015 with its first West Concourse. That debut marked the airport’s first return to international travel in 46 year. The current expansion continues this momentum by bringing seven new gates, cutting-edge baggage systems, modern spaces with natural daylight windows, and enhanced passenger amenities.
United Forming is honored to be part of this $470 million landmark development that's redefining the airport experience for millions of travelers. We supplied and installed advanced steel formwork systems, helping bring this multi-story concrete structure to life with safety, precision, and speed.
Big thanks to our dedicated field crews and to Hensel Phelps for the partnership. We are proud to be building what’s next — right here in Houston.
