Phase 1 of the ATL South Parking Deck Officially Tops Out
The first phase of the South Parking Deck at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is complete – a major milestone in the airport’s multi-year parking overhaul. This achievement is all about teamwork and dedication from our Atlanta crews and trade partners who delivered fast, high-quality work under challenging logistics at one of the world’s busiest airports.
United Forming Atlanta team, alongside with the Holder–Austin–Moody–Bryson joint venture (HAMB JV) and other partners, completed intensive forming and concrete work to get this done ahead of schedule. The team formed over 2.15 million square feet of elevated slabs and poured all vertical concrete in just 18 months — a big win for the team, bringing better parking options closer to reality for for ATL travelers.
With the structure now complete, the focus is on finishing interiors, wiring, and adding smart tech like digital parking spot indicators and ticketless entry systems. Set to open in late 2026, the seven-level deck will add nearly 7,000 spaces to ease the South Terminal’s parking crunch.
A heartfelt thank-you goes to the United Forming field crews and partnering firms, and the many subcontractors whose coordination made the topping-out possible. As Phase 1 moves from structure to fit-out, the project stands as a tangible example of teamwork and technical execution — job well done!
