Lowe’s Customer Support Center Phase III Parking Decks

Situated in the quiet northern suburbs of Charlotte - Mooresville, NC is home to the Lowe’s Companies burgeoning Corporate Headquarters Campus.  The new Customer Support Center and garages mark the second major expansion on the serene 228-acre site.  Phase III includes two, seven-story structural steel office towers and two, five-level cast-in-place parking garages.  The two 1,300 car garages are architecturally integrated into the campus so naturally, quality is of utmost importance to Lowe’s and Rodgers Builders.  The decks are positioned adjacent to the new headquarter buildings and were designed to complement the high quality and appearance of those buildings.

United Forming received an award for complete turn-key services with the caveat to get the project within budget.  Our project team immediately began working with the Rodgers team toward a value-engineered solution.  Together, UFI and Rogers brought the project into budget, and then turned our attentions to delivering a high quality and mutually successful project.

United Forming utilized beam tables for long, repeating beam spans and significantly improved the production of deck forming.  These measures delivered the added benefit of accelerating the schedule and assuring consistent quality from start to finish.   Along the way, UFI’s team placed over 33,000 cubic yards of concrete, installed 2,300 tons of mild reinforcing and 1.1 million pounds of post tensioning strand.  In the end, Rogers support of United Forming’s efforts and their team approach provided the opportunity to deliver a first-class project within budget and ahead of schedule.
